In a first approach one can make a link with the Narcissus character of the artist, the artist facing himself in his workshop. But he is far beyond. The artist is simply the reflection of the world, he is a servant of a righteous cause, of a disquieting strangeness, fragile like a mirror… On condition that this be real. But today, at the rise of a world without world, extolling the virtual, man’s image becomes his “own” limit, a fossil in real time. We have simply reached a dimension in which the images themselves watch us and these images mould us…

For Michel Foucault these places are “heterotopias” where time and space remain suspended like in a mirror, beyond the normal flow of events, in real and unreal space. The Heterotopia is not a perfect place that we can reconstruct elsewhere in space and time, but rather a feasible alternative that exists in that which we have already built, provided we had the means to unearth it.

Dans un rapport immédiat, on peut faire le parallèle du caractère Narcissique de l’artiste, de ce dernier face à lui-même dans son atelier, Il en est bien au-delà, l’artiste est tout simplement le reflet du monde, il reste un serviteur d’une cause juste, d’une inquiétante étrangeté, fragile, comme le miroir… À condition que tout cela soit réel, or aujourd’hui à l’aube du monde sans monde prônant pour le tout virtuel, l’image de l’homme devient sa « propre » frontière, un fossile en temps réel, Nous sommes tout simplement passés d’une dimension où ce sont les images qui nous regardent, et ce sont ces images fabriquées qui nous fabriquent…

Pour Michel Foucault ces lieux sont des « hétérotopies », où le temps et l’espace demeurent suspendus comme dans un miroir, hors du flux événement normal, dans un espace réel et irréel.
