Territory

Zoom in:
I observed the black line drawn like an inner space (veins, umbilical cord, lifeline).
I therefore did the shoot and mise-en-scene with salt mountains as background, considering that material as coming from an inner space.

Zoom out:
The black line is drawing itself like an external space (border, boundary line, map).
Thus I did the shoot and the scenes in the snow, considering that material as coming from an external space.

Still shot:
The black line has transformed itself into a table of different sizes (masks, negotiation table, orientation table).
I therefore did these shoots and mise-en-scene in gypsum quarries, the line becomes space, metaphor of transmutation. These polymorphs of form and
substance are the intuition that territory is a thought implemented through language.

The set is composed of 50 black and white prints on matte baryta paper 110x130cm limited to 3 copies + 2 artist’s prints.
